Rate the Business is sponsored by Joseph Wood Consulting, a local Cypress area business. Joseph is a native Texan who grew up in Dallas and has lived in the Cypress area for four years now.

Joseph's computer career started in 1990 with the original WordPerfect Corporation, where he worked in the Technical Support and Consulting arena for the next 13 years. The WordPerfect Customer Support department was famous for being the best in the industry in the early 1990's, and this allowed Joseph to see very good examples of what good customer service looks like on both sides of the sale.

What is left of WordPerfect is now owned by Corel Corporation, based in Ottawa, Canada. While corporate market share has decreased, WordPerfect is still bundled on many consumer computer systems from Dell, HP and Gateway, and is still a very capable word processor.

Joseph Wood Consulting was founded in 2002 to help the Corel Professional Services department with some overflow work. Since that time they have branched into custom PC sales, support and training, and have now opened the RateTheBusiness.com website as a service to Cypress area residents. Joseph is one of the last remaining WordPerfect gurus, and knows also quite a bit about computer hardware and both desktop and server operating systems.
