RateTheBusiness.com: Rating Guide
Customers may rate the business on a scale of 1..10 where 1 equals "Deadly" and 10 equals "Perfect". Average = 5. Customers may also comment on the specifics of their experience in the 'Comments' field. The following are some guidelines for the specific ratings:
- Rate '1' for a business that has in some way endangered your life because of the way that they treated you or your possessions. For example an Auto Repair shop that "fixes" your brakes but does not replace the brake fluid and thus leaves the brakes prone to failure. Rate this whether the business did this to you accidently or on purpose, and explain in your comments. Ratings of 1 must be accompanied by Comments to explain the situation. Also Rate '1' for any businesses that are engaged in any illegal practices.
- Rate '2' for a business that did not endanger your life, but which did everything possible to make sure that you had a bad experience there and would never want to come back. This rating also applies for a business with very strong anti-customer policies or businesses that are dishonest in any way.
- Rate '3' for a business that has people there who try somewhat to help you, but who are ultimately not able to. This is a good rating for businesses where the owners have not given management any power to help customers.
- Rate '4' for a business that tried to help you and partially succeeded, but did not fulfill all of the expectations that they advertised or that you expected on a reasonable basis.
- Rate '5' for a business that did what they said, but did not really impress you in any way. This is the baseline average score, and should be given to all businesses that get the job done in an average way. To be rated this high, businesses must be honest with you and complete all actions that you have paid them for.
- Rate '6' for a business that did everything that you requested, and acted professionally while doing it in every interaction with you. Rate '6' for a business that impressed you enough that you would go back, but not enough that you would tell all of your friends.
- Rate '7' for a business that did very high quality work (or product), even if that high quality level was what you expected going in. Reduce the rating some if they did not treat you professionally however.
- Rate '8' for a business that has very customer-friendly policies. Such a business offers protection from bad experiences with individual employees because one can always go to a manager and know that something positive will be done.
- Rate '9' for a business that treats you professionally, provides a very high quality product, and has customer-friendly policies. The service here must be of such a level that you have told others about your great experience.
- Rate '10' for the Perfect business. Well there is probably no such thing, but rate a '10' for the one or more business(es) that you have dealt with that profoundly changed your life for the better or helped you to make/save more money than you could before. Doctors who save your life could be placed here, assuming they treated you professionally and their billing department treated you with respect. If you have dealt with a business that was far above any other business that you have dealt with in that industry then this rating could apply.
